On Monday Japanese sources reported that female fighting icon Momo Koseki (21-2-1, 7) [小関 桃] was no longer the WBA-WBC unified Atomweight champion.
The talented Japanese warrior has, from what we under-stand, chosen to vacate the WBA title, a title she won last year when she over-came Ayaka Miyao, and will be continuing to defend her WBC title going forward.
The long reigning WBC champion has made a Japanese record setting number of defenses, with 16 successful defenses uder her belt. She'll be looking to extend that record in the near future, however her next bout hasn't yet been announced. What is known is that her next bout announcement will be just around the corner, especially given the way this news has broken and it seems likely that her team has got an opponent lined up for her already.
