Earlier today we were informed that WBC Atomweight queen Momo Koseki (19-2-1, 6) will be returning to the ring on February 19th as she looks for the 15th defence of the belt she won way back in August 2008. At the moment no opponent has been named for Koseki however we have been told that one will be announce in the coming days as she becomes the second world champion to be confirmed for the show which will take place at the Korakuen Hall. The other title fight, which was announced last year, will see Naoko Shibata (13-3, 4) defending her IBF Light Flyweight title against fellow Japanese fighter Saemi Hanagata (9-5-2, 4).
The tough Tokyo warrior, one of the roughest women in boxing, defended her belt twice last year stopping both Angor Onesongchaigym (then 5-0) and Denise Castle (then 2-0) and also set a Japanese national record for most world title defences, breaking the long standing record of 13 defences by the great Yoko Gushiken. Now it seems she will be hoping to extend that record and help herself to stand out as the best female fighter at 102lbs.
Another fighter announced for this card is Otsubo Tatsuya (6-6-1, 3) who will be fighting in an 8 round contest though his opponent has yet to be named.
