Earlier today Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall saw former WBC Super Featherweight champion Takashi Miura (30-3-2, 23) [三浦 隆司] return to the ring and blast away Filipino Jimmy Borbon (5-2-2, 3), inside a round.
Miura, fighting for the first time following his loss to Francisco Vargas last year, showed no intent of taking his time. He pressed the action from the off, and quickly found a home for his left hand whilst forcing Borbon towards the ropes.
Miura's power quickly took it's toll, dropping Borbon hard with a left hand. The shot left Borbon down for the count.
Following the bout Miura made it clear that his intention was to regain a world title and it's clear that he's looking for a world title fight before the year is over. That likely means that any current world champion is a target for "Bomber".
For fans interested in watching this bout, it will be aired on May 16th on G+.
