Today in Japan saw the final press conference ahead of this Sunday's world title double header. One of those world title bouts will see Takashi Miura (27-2-2, 20) defending his WBC Super Featherweight title against Edgar Puerta (23-4-1, 19).
At the press event Miura sounded incredibly confident and it seemed like he felt he was capable of seeing off Puerta. The Japanese fighter stated that he felt he could stop the Mexican with any punch and was physically at his best, in fact a big story in Japanese these past few days is that Miura was bigger than he had ever been adding notable size to his chest for this fight.
It was also reported that Miura was confident of scoring a KO against his Mexican foe, almost suggesting that he was so confident that the bout was going to be a mismatch.
As for Puerta he seemed to accept that Miura was strong but seemed to know that Miura had to respect him as this was going to be a hard fight. Having seen Puerta in action we feel he could be right, even if Miura does stop him in the early rounds.
