Although Tecuapetla is't one of the division's most well known names the Mexican is in good form and holds an excellent recent win over Gilberto Parra. That Parra win had helped secure the Mexican fighter a WBA #5 ranking. Interestingly the WBA don't currently rank Melindo so he will be hoping that a victory over Tecuapetla will help him in their rankings.
For Melindo this will be his second bout since he was defeated by Juan Francisco Estrada in a very well fought Flyweight world title fight in Macau. That bout may have been a loss but was an excellent showing from Melindo and we're hoping to seeing him at the top level once again in the next year or two.
The card, which which will be held on May 10th, is headlined by the long awaited rematch between Donnie Nietes (32-1-4, 18) WBO Light Flyweight world champion and Moises Fuentes (19-1-1, 10) and will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines. It's also set to include a bout with the very popular Rey Bautista (34-3, 25).
