The main event of tomorrow's Japanese show at the Korakuen Hall, "Dangan 176", will see Masayuki Kuroda (25-7-3, 15) [黒田 雅之] battle with Yuta Matsuo (12-2-1, 6) [ユータ松尾] for the Japanese "interim" Flyweight title. Today those two fighters took part in their weigh in, and both came in bang on the Flyweight limit of 112lbs for the bout.
For Matsuo the bout is his first title but sees him coming in at 112lbs for the third straight bout, and the 6th time in his last 8 bouts showiong that he is a genuine Flyweight and not a fighter boiling down or moving up to fight in the division. That's despite being a short guy in the division.
For Kuroda, a former Japanese Light Flyweight champion and former Flyweight world title challenger, the bout seems him continuing to make Flyweight, with it being the 7th time he has come in at 112lbs in his last 9 bouts. He may have started his career Light Flyweight but he has certainly grown into a fully fledged Flyweight. He also looked more taller than Matsuo, despite boxrec reporting that he was less than 2" taller than his upcoming foe.
