The fight started with Ito trying to boxing aggressively behind his job, though his gameplan changed after he was caught hard by a right hand counter from Enterina. The Japanese fighter seemed to be taken by surprise by the shot and quickly tied up the visitor whilst then changing his gameplan. Rather than being aggressive he began to try and draw leads from Enterina, which lead to some frustrating moments where neither guy threw.
In round 4 Ito had a break through, landing three huge right hands one after the other and dropping Enterina. The Filipino showed his toughness to get up and hear the bell. Amazingly the Filipino looked livelier than ever in round 5, but lacked the skills to match Ito who took the round with his clean punching.
In round 6 Enterina came out looking aggressive but he was caught by ahuge right hand, before Ito unloaded a series of uppercuts, then let loose with both hands. Enterina would then be saved whilst looking out on his feet and with blood covering the left side of his face, from a nasty cut on his left eye lid.
Although far from a flawless performance Ito looked more powerful than he usually does and showed various sides to his game, whilst edging yet closer to a long awaited world title fight. Ito admitted he had problems early, and the opening round was scored to the Filipino by all 3 judges, but even Enterina admitted that Ito was too good, stated that he was honoured to face such a talented fighter and that he believes Ito would become a world champion.
