Early on Nakatani looked sharp boxing and moving as his jab controlled everything. It looked as if Nakatani could do as he pleased and that the stoppage win was going to be inevitable. In the 6th round however things began to get a little bit more difficult for the champion who was cut around the left eye as things began to get ugly and frustrating.
The cut was never going to be fight end but it did, for a little while, seem to bother the champion who took a while to get back to what he was doing so well. earlier in the fight.
Unfortunately for the champion he did seem to want a KO and seemed disappointed when interviewed after the fight. Notably it was his 4th straight decision win and having started his career 6-0 (5) it seems clear Nakatani isn't the puncher we once though he was.
Whilst the result may not have been what Nakatani wanted it seems clear that he's highly skilled and only needs to work on a few little things before he's ready to move on to facing world level opposition. He seems to know that he needs to go back to the gym and work on his flaws and hopefully he'll make those small changes needed to become a world champion.
