On December 24th fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the chance to see a Japanese Middleweight "interim" title fight between Makoto Fuchigami (23-11, 13) [淵上 誠] and Tomohiro Ebisu (16-4, 16) [胡 朋宏]. Today those two men met, face to face, to help build towards their fight, and let the fans at the Hall build up their anticipation for the contest.
At the face off both men spoke to the crowd and both seemed to suggest that they would be hunting a KO, with Fuchigami admitting that Ebisu's power was impressive, but didn't seem to fear it, knowing that Ebisu's chin isn't particularly great.
Although it wasn't clearly stated today it does seem like the show will be featured on one of the two Japanese pay stream platforms, with the faceoff essentially suggesting that the bout will be streamed on the A-sign website, with most of A-sign's shows being run by Ebisu's promoter Yokohama Hikari.
The bout has come about due to the recent injury suffered by incumbent champion Hikaru Nishida (15-8-1, 7) [西田 光],who injured himself falling down some stairs just days prior to a fight with Fuchigami. The winner will need to face Nishida in 2017.
