On Friday Japanese fans saw WBC Bantamweight champion Shinsuke Yamanaka (25-0-2, 17) [山中慎介] record his 10th defense of the title as he over-came the determined Liborio Solis (23-4-1, 10), a former Super Flyweight champion.
Following the bout Solis and his team stated that they'd like a rematch with Yamanaka whilst being negative about both the judges and the referee.
Solis has stated that whilst their man didn't do enough to win, the 10 point margin wasn't reflective of the fight and that he should have lost by only 3 or 4 points. His manager also claimed that the referee, Britain's Ian John Lewis, was helping Yamanaka before stating that he wanted his charge to get a rematch, something Solis echoed whilst stating that he would win.
