The two women met on June 1st this year fighting to a much debated draw in what was set to be a WBA female Light Welterweight title unification bout. Many felt Esteche, who travelled to Russia for that bout, had done enough take home a win though in the end the judges were split with Esteche retaining her WBA regular title whilst Kulakova maintained her unbeaten record and the interim title.
Like the first bout this one will be in Russia and have been added to an already exciting card in Moscow headlined by a brilliant bout between the always fun to watch Denis Lebedev (25-2, 19) and the unbeaten Pawel Kolodziej (33-0, 18), this bout will be a WBA Cruiserweight title defence for Lebedev. The same show is also said to feature a WBC Cruiserweight bout between champion Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (49-2-1, 35) and Russian challenger Grigory Drozd (38-1, 27). At the moment however the WBC bout is said to be in some doubt with Wlodarczyk thought to still be negotiating financial terms for he contest.
