Tomorrow Ohashi will be promoting a title double-header at the Korakuen Hall. Arguably the most interesting of those bouts is at Atomweight where the indomitable Momo Koseki (20-2-1, 7), attempts to unify her WBC title with the WBA belt held by Ayaka Miyao (20-5-1, 4). Coming in to the bout both are well recognised champions with almost 20 combined defenses between the two fighters.
Today saw the weigh in for the bout, which has a limit of 102lbs.
On the scales Koseki was the slightly heavier fighter, coming in a smidge over 101½lb whilst Miyao was 101¼lbs.
Whilst there was just ¼lb separating the two fighters it did seem like Koseki was the much bigger fighter, having several inches in height above her fellow champion, who sported a new hair colour.
The bout will be aired on Fuji TV this coming weekend with both fighters hoping to become the first ever unified Atomweight champion.
Koseki and Miyao finally unify titles!
