Following Kohei Kono's (30-8, 13) victory this past Wednesday we've seen various reports about his future.
From what we understand it sounds like Kono is going to have a quick turn around and return to the ring in July to make his first title defence. Although no opponent has been named their is a lot of talk about it being Koki Kameda (32-1, 17) who was pictured shaking hands with the Watanabe gym chairman after Kono's victory.
As well as Kono's return to the ring in July we're also lead to believe that the same show will see WBA Super Featherweight champion Takashi Uchiyama (21-0-1, 17) defending his title. No names have yet been strongly linked to Uchiyama though the never ending saga of Uchiyama's rematch with WBC champion Takashi Miura (27-2-2, 20) has reared it's head once again.
