We often bemoan the quality of fights in Thailand, especially outside of the world level bouts. Today however we were informed of a genuinely brilliant match up at the "Youth" title level.
The match up in question will see Thailand's promising 20 year old Kongfah CP Freshmart (14-0, 8) battle against destructive Japanese teenager Daigo Higa (6-0, 6). On paper the bout is as good as it gets at the youth level and we can't help but lick out lips.
The bout will take place on July 25th in Bangkok, giving Kongfah the home advantage, and will be for the WBC Youth Flyweight title. Despite the home advantage that Kongfah has it's fair to say Higa won't be in awe of fighting on foreign soil, having already fought abroad in his short career. Interestingly Higa has also fought the slightly better competition, with his latest win being a stoppage of Cris Alfante, who notably took Kongfah the 10 round distance last year.
Although we know most won't tune in for this one we need to admit that it really is a mouth watering contest and is one of the best "Youth" title fights we've seen in a very, very long time.
For those who haven't seen the men in action we've included Kongfah's bout against Saengthong Chor Pakdee, a bout that ended in one of the best KO's of 2014, and Higa's debut bout with Saengkeng Saknarong
