Just a few moments ago we were informed that OPBF Flyweight champion Koki Eto (15-3-1, 11) would be making the first defense of his title on November 26th on a Gushiken promoted show at the Korakuen Hall.
At the moment no opponent has been named for Eto though it'll mark his first bout since winning the title in an absolute slug fest with Filipino Ardin Diale. That fight, one of the front runners for the 2014 Fight of the Year, was a war and it's certain that Eto's career will be short if he's involved in more more like that.
We'd suspect Eto will be fighting a relatively lowly ranked opponent in a defense that is more about finding out what last damage was done by the Diale fight than really proving himself again in a war.
At the time of writing there has only been 1 other fight confirmed for the show, a 4 rounder involving a debutant. Hopefully however more details will emerge over the coming days.
Eto, for all his limitations, has become one of our favourite fighters over the last year or so thanks to his all action style and his propensity for war which has seen him involved in FOTY candidates in both 2013, his bout with Kompayak Porpramook, and this year, the aforementioned bout with Diale. His career will be short but very exciting and we suggest you do your best to watch him as much as you can. Saying that we do believe that this bout will be streamed on the ustream Gushiken channel giving everyone around the world a chance to see the man we dub "The one man Highlight reel".
