Our brilliant Thai source Pal has given us another exclusive earlier today as he left a comment on a previous article informing us that Thailand's unbeaten Knockout CP Freshmart (9-0, 6) would be making the first defense of his WBA interim Minimumweight title later this year against Indonesian veteran Muhammad Rachman (65-11-5, 35). The match explains why Rachman has been placed at #9 in the recent WBA rankings, an hilariously lofty position given that the Indonesian has won just one bout in the last year and only 2 bouts in the last 3 years!
Although Rachman's ranking is ridiculous and indefensible it's clear that the WBA have further shown how idiotic they think fans are and again destroyed what was left their already tattered reputation. It'd be nice if they were to accept it was a mistake to rank the Indonesian 43 year old and suggest that Knockout fights a non-title bout with him, however to sanction a title bout between Knockout and Rachman would be deplorable, to say the least.
At the moment it seems the bout is merely in the planning stages with the camps still putting final touches to the bout, but it's said to be all but sorted with only a date to be set for the contest.
