Both men looked to establish their jabs early but the talented 20 year old Kiyose settled quickly and soon began to mix up his shots, landing right hands and solid body blows that made Ishibashi think twice.
The shots of Kiyose left Ishibashi battered and bloodied by the end of the 8 rounds, and although he failed to stop the experienced man the win was a clear one, with cards of 79-73, twice, and 79-74.
For Kiyose the win is his third in a row since losing a decision to Wataru Takeda back in December 2015, in the Rookie of the Year final. It ended a 2 fight stoppage run but suggested he has the skills to go a long way. Sadly for Ishibashi this was a 4th straight loss, and follows back to back losses to Shingo Kawamura and Suguru Muranaka.
