Tomorrow fight fans at the Korakuen Hall will get the chance to see Japanese Bantamweight champion Kentaro Masuda (25-7, 13) [益田 健太郎] defend his title against Satoshi Ozawa (13-6-1, 2) [小澤サトシ], in what will be Ozawa's first title bout.
Today the two men took part in their weigh in for the bout and both made the limit for the Bantamweight contest.
At the weigh in Ozawa seemed impressed by Masuda's aura and was clear that his intent was to claim the rounds to take the decision, despite fighting at the Korakuen Hall for the first time. He seems to know it's a big challenge but one he is determined to impress in. The challenger also admitted that he had failed the Japanese boxing test before making his debut, and now wants to prove that failing the pro-test isn't the end of a career.
For Masuda the intent seems to be on scoring a KO and retaining his title. As always he looked in great shape and it's obvious that he is again feeling comfortable as the champion and is looking to defending the title more, potentially in 2017.
