We've known for a while that Japan's Kazuto Ioka (16-1, 10) has been in strong talks with WBA Flyweight champion Juan Carlos Reveco (35-1, 19) with the bout to have been all but signed. What we didn't know was when to expect the bout with "Spring" being the general time frame. Today however we have been given a speculative date of April 8th from one of our many South American sources.
We've got to be honest and admit some doubt towards this date, considering it falls on a Wednesday however it is a plausible date. We would however not be shocked by the bout taking place the following Saturday so that the bout could be sold to Argentinian TV slightly easier with Argentinian channel TYC Sports likely to cover the bout live from Japan.
Whether the bout will take place on April 8th or not is of course speculation for now though it's good that the bout is all but done and it merely seems like the date and TV times needs sorting out. As far as we are aware TYC will be the Argentinian carrier and TBS will air the bout in Japan and both have been flexible in the past for their fighters.
At the moment we also haven't seen anything leaked about the under-card though wouldn't be shocked to see the likes of Ryo Miyazaki (22-1-3, 13) or Sho Ishida (18-0, 10) on the card.
