Earlier today Kazuto Ioka (17-1, 10) took part in an event to celebrate becoming a 3-weight world champion. The event saw him speak about his achievements and about his future.
Whilst the overall talk was an inspirational one for those in attendance we've seen details released form the event which are of more interest to both ourselves and boxing fans around the world.
According to one source Ioka and his team are currently trying to thrash out a deal with Argentinian fighter Juan Carlos Reveco (35-2, 19), the man who Ioka beat for the WBA Flyweight title earlier this year. According to the Ioka's team are trying to get a deal completed before the end of this month.
Whilst the rematch with Reveco certainly isn't sorted yet, our source has indicated that Ioka's father was confident a deal would be reached shortly. This could mean that Ioka's rumoured September bout would be his rematch with Reveco, alternatively it could mean that a deal would be made for the rematch to take place on New Year's Eve, something that had been previously rumoured.
