At the naming ceremony today we saw a notable boxing face, that of 3-weight world champion Kazuto Ioka (17-1, 10).
Ioka has been a staple at the venue in both of it's previous names, both the "Bodymaker Colosseum" and the venue's historical name as the "Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium" and will also be a staple at the "EDION Arena".
On September 27th Ioka will defend his WBA Flyweight title at the venue. That show will be the first "big" event at the venue since it's name change and Ioka made it very clear that he was incredibly proud to be part of the first major event at the newly named venue.
The upcoming bout will be Ioka's 16th in the venue since turning professional back in 2009 and it's fair to say that he'll be back at the end of the year for yet another bout in the venue as he continues bis brilliant relationship with the venue and the local fans who have supported him loyally through out his career.
