At the start of April we reported that former amateur stand out former amateur standout Kazuki Nakajima (0-0) [中嶋一輝] had inked a deal with the esteemed Ohashi gym, ahead of his professional debut. At the time of that report little was really known about when Nakajima would take his protest or fight for pay for the first time. Today however we have been given the details for both his pro-test and his debut.
Nakajima will have his protest on May 28th, and unsurprisingly it will be a B class debut as many top amateur fighters in Japan have.
If Nakajima passes his pro-test, as expected, he will make his debut on June 25th as part of "The Boxing Show", a card that is set to be headlined by Koki Inoue (7-0, 6) [浩樹井上].
At the moment an opponent hasn't yet been revealed for either Inoue or Nakajima, but we have been informed that Inoue's bout is set to be a "pre-Japanese title bout", essentially a tune up for a Japanese title bout later in the year.
It was also announced that the June 25th show would be the first at Machida City and would feature guest appearances from WBO Super Flyweight champion Naoya Inoue (12-0, 10) [井上 尚弥], IBF Light Flyweight champion Akira Yaegashi (25-5, 13) [八重樫 東] and 2012 Olympic bronze medal winner Satoshi Shimizu (2-0, 2) [清水 聡], who will all be there to support their stablemates.
