Today Japanese fans in Machida saw the professional debut of new Ohashi signing Kazuki Nakajima (1-0, 1) [中嶋一輝], who made a positive start to his professional career as he crushed a Thai visitor inside a round to get off to a perfect start.
The Japanese youngster, who was a former amateur stand out, made aquick impact dropping the Thai inside the first few moments with a nasty straight left hand. The visitor showed his courage by getting back up to continue the fight but was sent down again not long afterwards with the Thai taking the full count whilst holding his shoulder.
Although the bout had only lasted 109 seconds Nakajima had positives and negatives to take from the bout. In regards to positives it seems clear that he has got a style suited to the professional ranks, but both Nakajima, and his promoter Hideyuki Ohashi, did make note of his low guard which will need to be improved going forward.
After the bout it was stated that Nakajima will be back in action in August, something we already suspected, and will then be kept busy with fights every 2 months whilst he continues to develop a professional style and adapt to the professional scene after an extensive amateur background.
