We talk about fluid situations in life and it appears the career of Kanat Islam (25-0, 20) [Ислам Канат] is also a bit of a fluid situation with the Kazakh often speaking to Vesti.kz with updates on how he is and when he's wanting to be back in the ring.
Today a new report from Vesti states that Islam is targeting a new date for his return, just a week after delaying it "indefinitely".
The unbeaten Kazakh is now hoping to pencil in his return to the ring, in Kazakhstan on July 6th. The date is a special one in Kazakhstan because it's Capital City Day in Kazakhstan, a public holiday which falls on the anniversary of Kazakhstan transferring their capital city from Almaty to Akmola, now known as Astana.
Whether this plan comes to fruition is yet to be seen, but it is good to hear that there is now a date circled for Islam's return, even if it's still not set in stone and depends on his recover from injuries. It should be noted that this isn't the first potential return date for Islam, who has seen several issues delay his return. By the time he gets in the ring in July, if he does, he will have been without a fight in close to 2 years.
