We've heard over the last day or two that the JBC have stripped Kameda Gym of their promotional license following the controversial bout between Daiki Kameda and Liborio Solis.
For those who can't remember the controversy, it came about after Solis failed to make weight for a prospective WBA/IBF Super Flyweight title unification. Rather than call the bout a non-title bout Daiki was given a chance to unify his IBF title with WBA belt which had been stripped from Solis. Unfortunately Daiki lost and put the JBC in a position where they were forced in to action. They, and fans, had been lead to believe that if Daiki lost the IBF would strip his title, instead however Daiki retained his belt the loss, as per the IBF rules.
The decision by the JBC, which prevents the brothers from promoting shows, appears not to have affected their ability to fight though will prevent them from promoting cards in Japan. As a result of this it seems likely that Tomoki's recently announced bout Pungluang Sor Singyu would have to be promoted by another gym if it was to take place in Japan. This alone pushes the idea that it may well be held in the US.
The full details of the decision haven't yet been announced though we're expecting them to be released in the coming week or two.
