Jun, fighting against former world title challenger Silvester Lopez (23-10-2, 17), was coming into the bout on the best run of his career. He had won his previous 7 bouts including notable wins over Jason Cooper, Jonathan Baat, and Rasmanudin, and managed to extend that run by stopping Silvester in the in the 6th round with Malcolm Bulner saving the Filipino.
Unfortunately for Silvester, who notably challenged Yota Sato for the WBC Super Flyweight title, this was the continuation of his poor form. He had, notably, looked rejuvenated last time out out when he stopped the previous unbeaten Rex Wao but it looks like that result was his last hurrah and he has now gone 3-6 in his last 9 bouts, with 4 of those losses coming inside the distance.
Interestingly Jun had come into this bout ranked #5 by the WBC at Super Bantamweight and it seems very likely that he could be in contention for a world title bout later in the year.
