Back in December we reported that Japanese youngster Juiki Tatsuyoshi (6-0, 4) [辰吉寿以輝], a would be back in the ring on February 9th to fight against veteran Shun Ishibashi (10-20-1, 4) [石橋 俊] in a bout scheduled for 8 rounds.
Sadly today that bout was cancelled with Tatsuyoshi holding an emergency press conference to announce that he was off the show due to a serious injury to his left hand, damaging a tendon which will take around 6 weeks to heal.
Although it's not clear if Tatsuyoshi Vs Ishibashi will be rescheduled it does seem like Tatsuyoshi will be taking a notable break to recover and that's before even considering another training camp.
The fighter looked particularly downbeat at the press conference and it seems that the injury was only suffered on January 13th, following a sparring session. Despite the bout being off Tatsuyoshi is young enough to bounce back from the injury and should be back in the ring after his hand has healed.
Sadly as a knock on result of this injury the whole show has been cancelled and not just the bout.
