Earlier this year we saw talented Mexican Ganigan Lopez retain the WBC Light Flyweight title against Filipino puncher Jonathan Taconing (22-3-1, 18), ending a notable stoppage run of the Filipino's and giving him a second set back at world level. Now we know that the exciting Taconing won't need to wait much longer before returning to the ring with his return being scheduled for November 19th.
The hard hitting Taconing will be returning in a WBC International Light Flyweight title fight as he takes in fellow Filipino Salatiel Amit (9-1-2, 7), with Amit taking a huge step up in class.
Taconing's loss last time out to Lopez saw a 9 fight winning run come to an end, with wins coming against the likes of Vergilio Silvano, Roman Garcia Hirales and Jomar Fajardo. Despite that set back "Lightning" Taconing remains a top contender but will be avoided given his toughness, energy and power, and may end up waiting a long time for a third title fight.
The 24 year old Amit suffered his sole defeat in July 2015, when he came up against the highly regarded Jade Bornea, but has since reeled off 3 stoppage wins. Despite that winning run this is a massive step up in class for "Pakyaw" ad he goes up against a genuine world class fighter in a title bout.
At the moment few details regarding the under-card have been released but with this bout being sorted there is some real intrigue already in the show.
