Earlier today slippery Panamanian fighter Jezreel Corrales (19-1-0-1, 7) arrived in Japan, with the WBA "interim" Super Featherweight title ahead of next week's bout with WBA Super Featherweight "super" champion Takashi Uchiyama's (24-0-1, 20) [内山 高志].
At the airport Corrales got a lot of attention from the Japanese press but appeared to be very confident.
Not only did Corrales claim he was in great condition, thanking his trainers in Panama for their hard work, but he also seemed to suggest that he was ready to take the title home to Panama.
He claimed he had done his research on Uchiyama, and whilst he admitted Uchiyama was technically good, and a big puncher, he claimed he was more talented and was confident of scoring a KO against Uchiyama, even going as far as proclaiming himself as be "invincible" in the ring.
Whilst Corrales is, clearly the under-dog, listening to him talk seems to suggest that he believes the bookies have got it very wrong and given his talk we can only hope he's half as good as he thinks.
