At Flyweight the semi finals will be two really good looking bouts. One of those will see the exciting Seigo Yuri Akui (10-0-1, 6) [ユーリ阿久井 政悟] battle against Ryuto Oho (9-3-1, 2) [大保 龍斗] whilst the other will see Junto Nakatani (11-0, 9) [中谷 潤人] risk his unbeaten record against Yuma Kudo (6-2-2, 1) [工藤優雅]. It's fair to say the unbeaten fighters will be favoured, and have put on impressive performances very recently, but neither of these bouts are mismatcvhes and both Oho and Kudo are live opponents.
The winners of the two Flyweight semi-finals will face off in the final on August 23rd.
The Super Flyweight division has onely one semi-final, and will see the all-action Kenya Yamashita (9-3, 6) [山下賢哉] battle the recently beaten Naoto Iwai (3-1, 1) [岩井尚斗] in a really hard to pick bout. The winner of the semi final will be rewarded with a final against the popular Joe Tanooka (13-3-4, 1) [田之岡条], who will fight on May 15th in a bout unconnected to the Youth tournament.
The Bantamweight division has no semi-finals, and instead we'll be waiting for the final in August. That final will put the once beaten Wataru Takeda (10-1-1, 4) [武田 航] against the heavy handed Yuto Nakamura (7-3, 6) [中村祐斗] in a mouth watering clash.
As with the Bantamweight division we also go straight to the final in the Super Bantamweight division, with the final pitting Takuya Mizuno (10-1-1, 10) [水野拓哉] against Ryota Ishida (7-1, 5) [石田凌太] in a match up that looks likely to be explosive. It should be noted that Mizuno actually fights this coming weekend, though that result won't effect his status in this Youth match up.
We do have a semi-final at Featherweight, where Retsu Kosaka (7-2, 2) [小坂烈] will battle Ryo Sagawa (1-0, 1) [佐川遼] in what looks like a huge step up for Sagawa, who made a statement on debut in December when he stopped Ho Ya Kim. The winner of this semi final will be given the huge task of over-coming the heavy handed Tsuyoshi Tameda (13-3-2, 11) [溜田 剛士], who gets a bye to August's final.
At Super Featherweight we'll see Sho Nagata (7-2, 2) [永田 翔] take on Ryusei Ishii (6-3, 4) [石井龍誠], in what looks like one of the weakest semi-finals on paper. Although not as mouth watering as some of the others the bout should be a very competitive contest and the winner will get the chance to face Kazuma Sanpei (12-4, 4) [三瓶 数馬] in the final!
At Lightweight we have to wait until August to see any action, with the the final already being decided as Izuki Tomioka (2-0) [富岡樹] will face the once beaten Yuichiro Kasuya (9-1-1) [粕谷雄一郎], with Kasuya having recently lost his unbeaten record and Tomioka fighting later this week. Likewise we go straight to the final at Light Welterweight where Ukyo Yoshigai (5-0, 4) [吉開 右京] will face Ryuji Ikeda (11-3-2, 7) [池田 竜司], it is worth noting however that Yoshigai will fight this coming weekend as looks to stay busy before the final.
For those unsure All the semi finals will take place on May 16th and all the finals will take place on August 23rd. Where there are no semi-final bouts the fighters will meet just in the final in August.
