The announcement, which can be read below, has seen Zoda's opponent named, as an unbeaten European fighter, a date released for the bout, TV information, for those wanting to watch, and even the title which will be competed for.
The announcement may not be a step forward from Zoda's win over Petchchorhae however it is a step back up the youngster after a relatively straight forward win on New Year's Eve.
Hot Prospect Iwan Zoda Faces Unbeaten Foe in Borneo Title Clash
Indonesian flyweight puncher Iwan Zoda (8-1, 7 KOs) emerged as one of boxing's most exciting prospects in 2015.
In his break-out performance in October, 19-year-old Zoda traveled to Thailand and avenged his only professional loss in a thrilling fight-of-the-year candidate against previously unbeaten Petchchorhae Kokietgym. He followed the knockout win with a third-round destruction of Phupha Por Nobnom.
On April 2nd Zoda will face another unbeaten opponent as he clashes with Hungarian Szilveszter Kanalas (8-0, 6 KOs) for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Youth World title. The 12-round flyweight contest will take place in Pontianak on the island of Borneo.
At just 17 years of age, Kanalas has already proved his worth over the championship distance. In December he beat countryman Jozsef Ajtai for the WBF title on a 12-round points decision. Before his early move to professional ranks Kanalas was a very promising amateur, representing Hungary in several international tournaments.
The title fight will be shown live on iNews TV on April 2nd. It can also be followed by a live stream on iNews TV web site.
