Earlier today in Osaka fans got the chance to see fast rising Super Flyweight prospect Sho Ishida (16-0, 9) in action.
Ishida, tipped by many as the next great fighter from the Ioka stable was taking part in a relative mismatch as he took on Thailand's Brukluk Kor Narong Service (0-1). Although the bout was a mismatch, and a clear one, it was still an impressive showing from Ishida who began by boxing behind his jab though the opening round before going for the kill in round two with some vicious body shots.
Although Ishida has yet to fight for a title of any kind their is speculation that he may be one of the next challengers for the Japanese title, which he has a #3 ranking for, or the OPBF title, which he holds a #5 ranking for. Both of those titles do belong with good fighters but Ishida should feel he's on the same sort of level as both men.
Although Ishida is a man who is being over-looked by many this is his 3rd straight early victory following a stoppage over the highly ranked Petchbarngborn Kokietgym (KO2) and Comeback Wor Por Srisaket (KO1) and it's now time for him to get an really serious test.
