The past week saw the annual Japanese boxing awards being handed out. The awards, which are one of the biggest honours in Japanese boxing saw one man stating his aim for 2014.
That man was WBA Light Flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka. Ioka, who had been the MVP in 2012 vowed that he would reclaim the MVP title next year, whilst also mentioning unifying his title and also moving up in weight.
Ioka missed out on MVP this year due to Shinsuke Yamanaka, who claimed the title for the first time.
