Earlier today a number of Ioka Gym fighters set off for a small training camp in Ishigaki, the birth place of the great Yoko Gushiken [具志堅 用高].
The fighters that flew out were current Japanese Super Flyweight champion Sho Ishida (20-0, 10) [石田 匠], current OPBF Bantamweight champion Takahiro Yamamoto (17-4, 14) [山本 隆寛], current OPBF Lightweight champion Masayoshi Nakatani (11-0, 6) [中谷 正義] and current WBA Flyweight champion Kazuto Ioka (19-1, 11) [井岡一翔].
The fighters will be in Ishigaki for the next few days as part of their training before focusing on their upcoming bouts.
For Ishida and Nakatani their next bouts are known, and both are set to take place on April 17th at the Edion Arena Osaka. Notably however neither Yamamoto or Ioka have had their next bouts announced, though both are expected to be in action in early Early May.We suspect both men will have their bouts announced in the days following their return to Osaka.
