Earlier today we were informed that Japanese hopeful Koki Inoue (1-0, 1) [浩樹井上] would be making his ring return on March 28th as part of the under-card to the Ohashi promoted Hosono Vs Fukuhara III show.
The main of the card, a Japanese Featherweight title bout between Satoshi Hosono (30-2-1, 20) [細野 悟] and Rikiya Fukuhara (31-8-1, 23) [福原 力也], is a battle of veteran but the young Inoue is part of the new wave of Japanese fighters who look likely to be making their names in the coming years.
Trained by his uncle Shingo Inoue, the father of world champion Naoya Inoue and OPBF champion Takuma Inoue, the young Koki is expected to be a bit of a Japanese sensation at 140lbs and will be looking to prove that when he returns to the ring in late March.
Sadly we're not sure on the name of Inoue's opponent, but we have been informed that it will be a Thai, suggesting that he's going to have an incomplete boxrec record. We also know that the bout has been made at 140lbs and will be scheduled to go 6 rounds, though if Inoue is as good as touted we suspect he will see off his foe inside the distance.
