Earlier today Japanese super star Naoya Inoue (6-0, 5) took part in a public practice ahead of his WBC Light Flyweight title defence on September 5th against Samartlek Kokietgym (17-4, 5).
From what we understand the practise session saw Naoya Inoue sparring with his younger brother Takuma Inoue (2-0) under the watchful eye of father-trainer Shingo Inoue and Ohashi gym chairman Hideyuki Ohashi.
Whilst the sparring was interesting it wasn't particularly great with the brothers knowing what they had to do to please the praying eyes of the media. What was interesting however is that Inoue has apparently not had a major struggle with his weight this time around. This is because his team has hired a nutritionist which has helped him cut weight and cut out so bad eating habits. As a result of these changes Inoue has been eating less fried food and more salads.
Although Inoue hasn't had the same struggles with weight this time around the plans still seem to suggest that he will be moving up to Flyweight in his next bout rather than continue at 108lbs a weight he has just out grown.
