Earlier today Japanese promoter Morioka held a press conference to officially announce their March 20th show, "Art of Boxing". The press conference not only officially announced the show, and the bouts, but also saw a number of comments being made by the fighters on the card.
The most notable of the comments came from Japanese wunderkind Hinata Maruta (1-0) [丸田 陽七太] who stated his aim for the year was to win his first professional title.
The sensationally talented teenager, who faces Krungsing Kaolamlekgym (0-0) on the March 20th card, announced that he was targeting the WBC Youth title, a stepping stone belt that has been won by numerous world champions over the year.
Incidentally Maruta has recently been sparring with Yushi Tanaka (16-0-3, 10) [田中 裕士], himself a former WBC Youth Bantamweight champion, and it's likely that sparring with Tanaka is part of the reason why Maruta is now targeting the Youth title.
