Tomorrow Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall are in for a treat as WBC Youth Flyweight champion Daigo Higa (7-0, 7) defends his title against Filipino foe Renren Tesorio (15-6-3, 4), in what will be Higa's first defense of the title that he won back in July in Thailand.
Today, ahead of that bout, both men took part in the weigh in and thankfully both fighters made weight for what looks to be a sure fire barn burner.
Higa came to international attention when he won the crown, stopping Kongfah CP Freshmart in an all action bout. Since then we've been waiting for his return to the ring hoping that he can further build on his profile and prove himself to be yet another Japanese fighter to watch.
Tesorio comes into this bout as the Filipino champion and will be hoping to become the first man not only to survive the Higa assault but to defeat the Japanese fighter. It's worth noting that he did look very confident at the weigh in and has certainly not traveled to just make up the numbers.
