Tomorrow Japanese fans at the Korakuen Hall, and those tuning in on G+, will get the chance to see OPBF Flyweight champion Daigo Higa (10-0, 10) [比嘉 大吾] battle Filipino southpaw Felipe Cagubcob Jr (6-2-5, 2), in what will be Higa's first defense of the title that he won earlier this year.
Today the two men took part in their weigh in with both fighters managing to make the weight at their first attempt.
On the scales the champion was the lighter man with Higa coming at 111.5lbs, well under the divisional limit but looking genuinely incredible with his body looking great. As for Cagubcob he was on the limit, but rumours are that he was struggling to make weight and some speculation is that he's very much done everything to make the weight limit.
If Higa wins, as many are suspecting, the hope is for him to move into a world title fight by the end of next year, and from what we've seen of him we certainly wouldn't rule out the youngster from claiming a title and keeping his perfect record.
