We're sad to report that Japanese Super Bantamweight champion Hidenori Otake (22-1-3, 9) has suffered a rib injury in training and as a result his contest with Daisuke Furuhashi (16-5, 6), scheduled for July 18th, has had to be delayed. From what we understand it sounds like the bout will be re-arranged for late October or early November.
At the moment we're unsure on the status of the rest of the card, which was to be held at the Korakuen Hall, though we would suspect that the show will be cancelled considering that the main event has now been scrapped. Alternatively the show could go on if Kaneko Boxing can arrange an interesting looking main event on just over a weeks notice.
We're hoping to hear more details about this in the next day or two. At the moment however only 2 major media outlets in Japan currently reporting the story.
