On Tuesday Japanese wonder kid Hinata Maruta (1-0) [丸田 陽七太] posted a blog entry regarding his latest sparring session. That session saw the teenager spend time in the ring with Japanese based Filipino veteran Mark John Yap (23-12, 10), who is very highly ranked by the OPBF.
Maruta, who fights next on March 20th, has been sparring with high qualities partners since before his professional debut and time in the ring with Yap will continue to bring along his development, in fact the spar is likely to have been tougher than his up coming bout against Thailand's Krungsing Kaolamlekgym (0-0).
Whilst Maruta has an easy looking bout ahead of him Yap has a tricky assignment, with the 27 year old returning to the ring on April 17th against former world title challenger Hiroyuki Hisataka (24-14-1, 10).
Given that both men have bouts lined up both will have used this spar to sharpen up and both will have taken a lot from the session.
As well the news in regards to that spar, we have also come across the video of the recent press conference to announce "Art of Boxing", the upcoming show to feature Maruta. For those interested in watching that, the video is below courtesy of Morioka boxing.
