Earlier this week we reported that WBA Minimumweight champion Knockout CP Freshmart (14-0, 6) [น็อคเอาท์ ซีพีเฟรชมาร์ท] would return to the ring on March 1st to defend his world title, in a bout against former 2-time world title challenger Go Odaira (13-5-3, 1) [大平 剛].
At the time of that report there was no news of the bout in Japan, that however changed today with Hanagata holding a press conference to announce the bout.
The press conference stated that the JJapanese fighter, who will go into the bout as the clear under-dog, will go to Thailand on February 22nd to put finishing touches to his preparation as he looks to make it third time lucky at world level.
Interestingly this will be Odaira's third success bout in Thailand and he, and his team, are looking to use the experiences of those previous bouts in the "Land of Smiles" to help him become the first Japanese fighter to win a full "world" title in Thailand.
