We all know Gennady Golovkin (30-0, 27) is one of, if not the, best Middleweight on the planet but we didn't expect the bookies to totally write off the chances of his upcoming rival Marco Antonio Rubio (59-6-1, 51). The fight promises to be an explosive one with both men having proven power though we didn't suspect that one guy would be such a big favourite he's actually unbackable, especially given Rubio's power and experienced.
The odds on a Golovkin win are between 1/41 and 1/100. Those ridiculous odds may be a week or so before the fight but are unlikely to get any better on fight night. If you fancy the upset then you maybe tempted to back Rubio to win, which is around 16/1 with almost every bookmaker in the UK.
At the moment the draw is priced at 33/1.
With no money to won on Golovkin in the outright markets we'd advise everyone to wait until the bookies open up more markets. Sadly this is the only currently open market on the fight and it's a market we can't imagine many, if any, are actually putting their money down on considering the available odds.
