The bout looks likely to depend on whether or not Sky TV will put in a certain amount of money for the fight, with them gaining the UK broadcast rights to the bout, and whether or not Eubank's promoter Eddie Hearn can get other things finalised over the coming days.
For Golovkin the bout would see him make his UK debut and see him adding England to a list that already includes Germany, Denmark, Panama, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, USA and Monaco as countries he has fought it. It would also see him attempt to extend his current winning run and his stoppage run, which stands at a very impressive 22 stoppage wins.
Interesting Golovkin had been targeting former Eubank conqueror Billy Joe Saunders, the current WBO champion, earlier this year with a proposed bout in the UK though Saunders took a different option leaving the door open for Eubank Jr to get this potential opportunity,
For Eubank Jr this bout is a huge step up in class and sees him fighting a much better opponent than anyone else he has faced, such as Saunders or Dmitry Chudinov, who he beat for the WBA "Interim" title back in 2015. Despite the step up in class the Englishman is a confident type of guy and seems to be actively chasing the big fight with Golovkin as he looks to prove himself as being more than just the son of his eccentric father.
