Earlier today in Japan saw the weigh-in for tomorrow's show at the Korakuen Hall. The main event of that bout is a genuinely important bout on the Japanese domestic scene against two of the leading domestic contenders, each looking to get themselves a second shot at current national champion Yukinori Oguni.
The bout in question sees the spiky haired Gakuya Furuhashi (17-5-1, 7), pictured, battle against Yasutaka Ishimoto (25-8, 7) , and today both men made weight. In fact both men made the 122lb limit dead on for the fight.
For the 27 year old Furuhashi this will be his first bout since fighting to a draw with Oguni in April. Coming in to this particular fight he is on a 5 fight unbeaten run, including the Oguni draw and a stoppage win against Toru Suzuki.
On the other hand Ishimoto, the more well known of the two men thanks to his upset win over Wilfredo Vasquez Jr, was won just 1 of his last 3 bouts following defeats to both Chris Avalos, by 8th round TKO, and Oguni, in a razor thin decision.
