Today the two fighters took part in their weigh in for the contest, and both managed to make the 108lb limit.
The 42 year old Fujioka came in well under weight, weighing just 107.4lbs. The weight seemed to show that despite having fought as high as 118lbs Fujiuoka is a naturally smaller fighter and could, potentially, still make 105lbs, the weight she won her first world title at. At the weigh in she made it clear that a title win her was the key thing on her mind, as she sought to complete a target she had set herself earlier in her career, and she didn't rule out retirement after the contest. Also notably Fujioka stated that she was going to be going after a KO and that she didn't think Valle would last all 10 rounds.
Valle on the other hand was just over 106lbs, and looked the much smaller fighter at the weigh in. She showed plenty of belief, and knows her boxing history, suggesting it would be third time lucky for Costa Rican fighters in world title fights in Japan, with two other fighters form her homeland coming up short in the Land of the Rising Sun.
