Earlier today in South Korea saw the weigh ins for tomorrows IBF affiliated title fights in Hongcheon-Gun. The show, which featured 3 IBF titles, is to be sanctioned by the Korean Boxing Federation and the 3 headline bouts will see Thai's fighting against Japanese fighters.
In the main event the WBA world ranked Takumi Sakae (10-0, 6) will be battling against Jaipetch Chaiyonggym (4-2, 2) for the IBF Youth Light Flyweight title. The bout will be Sakae's first title bout and the 21 year old Japanese fighter, who was the 105lb Rookie of the Year in 2013, will be partaking in his first scheduled 10 rounder. Although world ranked there are still a lot of question marks around Sakae who will be hoping to claim an IBF ranking if he wins here.
As for Jaipetch the Thai 21 year old will be hoping to record his biggest win to date and extend a 2 fight winning streak.
Whilst the main event features a world ranked fighter the co features are both very interesting bouts in their own rights.
One of the feature bouts will see former Japanese Super Featherweight title challenger Shingo Eto (14-3-1, 9) battle against former OPBF Featherweight title challenger Maxsaisai Sithsaithong (15-6, 4) in a bout for the IBF Asia Super Featherweight title. Eto, who towered over Maxsaisai at the weigh in, will go in as the favourite and will know that a win here could open up his opportunities for bigger and better fights.
The other feature bout Takuya Watanabe (22-5-1, 10) defending his IBF Asia Featherweight title against Non Sithsaithong (12-6, 8). This will be Watanabe's third bout in Korea inside 12 months with the first of those being his bloodbath with Jaesung Lee last March whilst the other was his title win over Yodpichai Sithsaithong last July. For Non this will be his 4th bout outside of Thailand and he is current;y 0-3 outside of his homeland.
