On Tuesday fans in Osaka will get the chance to see a IBF Minimumweight title fight between defending champion Katsunari Takayama (28-7-0-1, 11) and Thailand's Fahlan Sakkreerin Jr (27-3-1, 15). Today, ahead of that fight, both men took part in their physical screening.
Notably the 21 year old Thai appears to have almost all the physical advantages. He is more than 8cm (more than 3") taller than Takayama and has significantly longer wingspan, with which he'll be trying to use to keep Takayama at range,
In terms of the physical advantages it's hard to see anything Takayama has on the Thai who is bigger and younger. However Takayama has advantages in terms of his experiences, with more total fights, rounds and world title bouts. That experience, and more rounded skillset, will be what Takayama will be hoping nets him the victory and moves him towards a divisional superfight with Hekkie Budler or a possible reunification bout with Kosei Tanaka.
