The boxing continued with an evening session, and it was a session that lacked the massive controversy of the previous two sessions, thankfully.
In a female bout Kazakhstan's Zhaina Shekerbekova was surprisingly beaten by French fighter Sarah Ourahmoune, who fought out of her skin to progress to the 51KG semi final
At 56KG's we saw China's Jiawel Zhang being made to look foolish as he took on Cuban sensation Robeisy Ramirez and came up second best, in every which way. Zhang gave his all but the Cuban secured a clear and decisive unanimous decision, whilst fighting well within himself. Ramirez's opponent in his semi-final bout will be Uzbek Murodjon Akhmadaliev who scored an opening round victory over Argentina's Ezeqiuel Melian, who was totally out of his depth against the destructive Uzbek.
In an excellent performance at 64KG's we saw Azeri Lorenzo Sotomayor out box Cuban Yasnier Toledo as he progressed, with a unanimous decision, in to the semi-finals.
At Super Heavyweight Britain's Joe Joyce battered Uzbek Bakhodir Jalolov for 3 rounds in a very impressive performance to progress into the semi-final, where he will face Kazakh Ivan Dychko. The Kazakh progressed with a sloppy win over the heavy handed Efe Ajagba, who seemed to lack that little bit of extra class to go with his power
