For the first time at the Rio Olympics we saw female action this morning, sadly however Uzbek Yodgor Mirzoyeva's competition lasted just 3 rounds as she was out pointed by Canadian Mandy Bujold. China's Yin Junhua did however fair much better as she out pointed Hasna Lachgar of Morocco.
In terms of men we saw fights over 3 divisions.
At 75KG's, which is still in the round of 16, fans saw Kazakh Zhanibek Alimkhanuly over-come Algerian Ilyas Abbadi with a unanimous decision, he's now one win from a medal.
Sadly at 60KG's we saw Uzbek Hurshid Tajibayev miss out on a medal as he was dominated by local favourite Robson Conceicao, who is now assured of a medal on home turf. It wasn't all bad for Kazakh's however and we now know that Khasanbay Dusmatov will, at worst, get a silver as he over-came American Nico Hernandez in a semi-final at 49KG's. Unfortunately for the Uzbek he will be facing fan favourite Yurberjen Martinez, who has been one of the sensations of the games.
